Governor General coming to Western Nova Scotia.

 Western Nova Scotia will be welcoming a very special visitor later this month.  Governor General David Johnston will be arriving on May 30th.  The Queen's representative in Canada will visit the town of Yarmouth but he also wants to visit an Acadian community. Governor General Johnston will also visit West Pubnico on May 31st. Argyle Warden Aldric d'Entremont says the community is very excited. The Governor General will visit the Nova Scotia Acadian Historical Village and the West Pubnico Museum and Archives. Johnston will be at the West Pubnico Fire Hall on the afternoon of the 31st to meet people and deliver a speech.

Boyne Clark are offering two free workshops on June 8th in Yarmouth at the Rodd Grand. Are you a Board member and want to learn more about governance? 2011 Chamber of Commerce Business Awards

Our annual awards dinner gave us a chance to recognize the accomplishments of local business people and entrepreneurs. This year’s awards were presented before an audience of over 250 local business people. This was the chamber’s sixth annual business awards banquet.

Vernon d’Eon of Vernon d’Eon Lobster Plugs Ltd. received the award for business person of the year.
