About us

Our objectives

The objectives of the Chamber are to:
• Study and assist the development of industries in the Town and County of Yarmouth.
• Promote the development of our natural resources.
• Encourage and foster all activities pertaining to trade, commerce and services.
• Support all matters beneficial to the Town and County of Yarmouth.

Our mandate

Progressive communities don't just happen. They are the result of the combined efforts of our community and business leaders spearheaded by the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce has a mandate which is all encompassing as it supports all matters beneficial to the general interests of the town and county of Yarmouth.

The Chamber of Commerce is one of the few groups which is organized to influence public policy. Through applications with the Nova Scotia Chamber of Commerce, The Atlantic Provinces Chamber of Commerce and local merchants and associations, the Chamber is able to act as an influential vehicle to initiate or change policies.

Individual businesses, as members may use this lobbying power to address their individual and collective concerns with respect to the community as a whole.
